The Korea Bio Association announced on the 19th that it will carry out the 'Gyeonggi-do Bio Professional Workforce Training Project' in collaboration with Gyeonggi-do and the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency to cultivate bio-specialized talent tailored to field needs.
Aiming to nurture bio professionals based on future technologies, this project also involves Bundang Seoul National University Hospital, Ajou University, and Dongguk University in addition to the aforementioned institutions. Participating institutions will operate a total of eight training courses in areas of convergence demand, field demand, and future demand, including ▲Artificial Intelligence (AI) digital healthcare solution development ▲Bio (genome) data analysis courses ▲Bio process development ▲Bio regulatory approval processes ▲Bio product analysis technology ▲Advanced biopharmaceutical development courses. Eligible participants are youths under 34 years old residing in Gyeonggi-do, job seekers (or prospective job seekers) enrolled in universities within the province, and employees working in bio-related companies located in Gyeonggi-do. The plan is to train 500 new personnel annually, with all training fees fully covered.
The Bio Association provides customized practical training demanded by the industry through this project. For job seekers (or prospective job seekers), a bio (genome) big data analysis course is offered, while for employees, courses include bio (genome) big data analysis as well as bio process development and bio regulatory approval training.
The bio (genome) big data analysis course covers the entire cycle from basic to advanced levels in the field of genome data. Participants undertake individual data analysis projects related to practical work, such as metagenome sequencing data analysis. To strengthen on-site practical skills, genome-related experts from domestic and international organizations such as Illumina, Macrogen, and Theragen Bio participate as speakers. Employment support consulting, including mock interviews and resume writing guidance, is also provided for job seekers (or prospective job seekers).
The bio process development training course for employees cultivates new drug development and regulatory approval capabilities through understanding the current status of the biopharmaceutical industry, the entire research and development process of biopharmaceuticals, the role of manufacturing quality control (CMC) at each stage, and how to prepare international common technical document (CTD) approval materials. A 'Bio Regulatory Re-education Course' is also offered to help participants accurately understand the medical device manufacturing regulatory approval process and related laws and regulations.
Currently, applications are open for the 2024 Gyeonggi-do Bio Big Data (Genome) Analysis Course for prospective job seekers. Detailed information can be found on the association’s website. Applications can be submitted through the job portal Saramin. The deadline is until 6 PM on the 30th.
