Gyeonggi Province is piloting the ‘AI Senior Care Town’ in Gwanin-myeon, Pocheon City.
On the 19th, Gyeonggi Province announced that starting from July, the Gwanin-myeon AI Senior Care Town will provide various AI care services for the elderly, along with integrated support for visiting medical services and digital education.
In the AI Senior Care Town, any senior who wishes can receive an AI companionship service where an AI counselor checks in once a week. Additionally, seniors can easily conduct health assessments (AI healthcare) at home using their smartphones, and a matched care manager provides continuous management through the ‘Always Comfortable AI Care’ service.
Furthermore, the ‘Visiting Care Medical Center’ of Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center, where doctors, nurses, and social workers visit homes to provide medical services, will be linked to this service.
Gyeonggi Province is promoting the Gyeonggi Senior AI+Care project, which establishes a non-face-to-face preventive management system using AI. The AI Senior Care Town is the nation’s first project to focus on integrated AI care in a specific area.
The elderly population in Gwanin-myeon, Pocheon City, is 1,192, accounting for 47% of the total population of Gwanin-myeon, the highest elderly population ratio among towns and townships in the province. This is three times the overall elderly population ratio of 16% in Gyeonggi Province.
