'Power Andre 99' to Open on the 3rd of Next Month
On the 18th, CGV announced that it will showcase the live performance of the band Silica Gel at twenty-nine locations including Yongsan I'Park Mall. The film, titled 'Power Andre 99,' will be released on the 3rd of next month. It captures the concert held last November at Yongsan Blue Square Mastercard Hall.
Silica Gel is a four-member band consisting of Kim Geonjae (drums), Kim Hanju (keyboard and vocals), Kim Chunchu (guitar and vocals), and Choi Unghee (bass). Since their debut in 2015, they have released experimental music without being confined to any genre. Recognized for their musicality, they have received awards such as the Musician of the Year at the Korean Music Awards and the Best Music Style Award at the Melon Music Awards.
'Power Andre 99' attracted attention for its direction that resembles appreciating an art piece. It modernly combines art structures and video art. Lee Jungguk, head of CGV Icecon Business Team, said, "The performance stands out with its dazzling visuals and experimental music," adding, "Through the large screen in the theater, audiences will be able to feel the excitement of that time."
