Chinese Tourist Sexually Assaulted While Asleep Drunk
A hotel employee in his 30s was urgently arrested by the police for secretly entering the room of an intoxicated Chinese female guest using a master key and sexually assaulting her.
On the 17th, the Jeju Western Police Station announced that they had arrested and were investigating A, a front desk employee at a hotel in Jeju City, on charges of quasi-rape.
A is suspected of secretly entering the room where a Chinese tourist woman, B, was staying at a hotel in Yeondong, Jeju City, around 4 a.m. on the 14th and sexually assaulting her. At the time, B was heavily intoxicated and reportedly unable to resist.
Later that morning, after regaining consciousness, B informed her Chinese companions that she had been sexually assaulted, and an acquaintance reported the incident to the police.
The police urgently arrested A based on CCTV footage showing him entering B’s room and B’s statement.
Investigations revealed that A used a master key to enter the room. However, A reportedly denied the sexual assault charges, claiming that he believed B consented because she did not resist.
The police plan to apply for an arrest warrant for A after thoroughly investigating the details of the incident.
