The campaign of U.S. President Joe Biden is reportedly set to spend approximately 69 billion won on advertisements highlighting the judicial risks faced by his competitor, former President Donald Trump, ahead of the November presidential election.
According to major U.S. media on the 17th (local time), the Biden campaign announced plans to spend $50 million (about 69 billion won) on a new advertising campaign by the end of this month. With just over four months remaining until the U.S. presidential election, this marks the beginning of a full-scale election campaign.

The first TV debate of this election is scheduled to take place on the 27th in Atlanta. Ahead of the TV debate, the Biden campaign is expected to focus on highlighting the guilty verdict related to former President Trump’s 'hush money for sexual misconduct' allegations through the advertising campaign.
The advertisement, titled "Character Matters," is about 30 seconds long. It shows former President Trump walking into the Manhattan criminal court in New York, pointing out that he has been found guilty on 34 felony counts and is also held responsible for sexual crimes and financial fraud. In contrast, the ad emphasizes President Biden’s achievements during his tenure.
It includes the phrase, "This election is a contest between a convicted criminal running for office for himself alone and a president fighting for your family." The video particularly contrasts the mugshot of former President Trump, who faces criminal charges, with scenes of President Biden high-fiving and embracing supporters, emphasizing moral superiority.
The advertisement will be aired primarily in battleground states through general commercial TV and internet-connected TV. It will also be broadcast nationwide via cable.
Michael Tyler, communications director for the Biden campaign, criticized, "Trump will do anything if it means more power and revenge for himself," adding, "He is a convicted felon who continues to prove he can harm anyone, and he will appear in the first TV debate."
