Seongbuk-gu Selected for CCTV-Based Missing Persons (Children and Seniors) Search System Project Competition Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu

Seongbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) announced on the 17th that it has been selected for the Seoul Metropolitan Government's '2024 CCTV-Based Missing Person Search System Construction' project and secured a budget of 200 million KRW.


This public contest project aims to quickly detect dementia patients and others by utilizing linked analysis technology of CCTV footage, track their movement paths, and provide visualized results.


Through this system, Seongbuk-gu plans to strengthen the community safety net by responding quickly and accurately when children and elderly go missing.


Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, said, "We are pleased to establish a CCTV system using AI technology through this project selection, enabling us to provide a safer urban environment for citizens," and added, "We will continue to cooperate with the police and related organizations to make Seongbuk-gu a safer and more livable city."


Seongbuk-gu plans to complete the construction of a high-speed search platform by October, conduct a pilot operation, and officially launch the missing person search system starting in November.
