Dongmyung University, Seoul School of Integrated Sciences and Technologies, and Silla University Sign MOU for Mutual Growth

Do-ing (Challenge, Experience, Practice) Tongmyong University (President Ho-Hwan Jun) signed a memorandum of understanding on the 14th with Seoul School of Integrated Sciences & Technologies (President Hee-Chang Moon) and Silla University (President Namsik Heo) to promote mutual growth through exchange and cooperation among the three universities.

Dongmyung University, Seoul School of Integrated Sciences and Technologies, and Silla University Sign MOU for Mutual Growth Dongmyeong University, Seoul School of Integrated Sciences and Technologies, and Silla University Signed a Win-Win Growth Agreement.

Through this agreement, Seoul School of Integrated Sciences & Technologies, Tongmyong University, and Silla University will work together to successfully carry out the Glocal University 30 project, which aims to move beyond regional boundaries and go global. They also agreed to establish a model of mutual growth between regional universities and leading universities in the Seoul metropolitan area, contributing to the development of each university's education and research sectors.


The three universities will comprehensively collaborate in specialized Glocal University fields such as industry-academia cooperation, joint research, and technology entrepreneurship. They also pledged to cooperate on the establishment of integrated undergraduate majors and joint degree programs in specialized Glocal University fields, the development of 3+2 bachelor's-master's linked degree programs, and the creation of integrated graduate schools.


They also agreed on the establishment of a separate master's program for graduates of BIC (Busan International College), Tongmyong University's international college exclusively for foreign students, to attract and nurture outstanding international students.


President Ho-Hwan Jun stated, "Seoul School of Integrated Sciences & Technologies is recognized as a leading innovative university in Korea, widely acknowledged for its innovative educational achievements in rankings such as WURI (World University Rankings for Innovation). As leading innovative universities in Busan, Tongmyong University and Silla University will greatly benefit from mutual cooperation with Seoul School of Integrated Sciences & Technologies in successfully promoting the Glocal University 30 project," expressing his expectations for collaboration among the three universities.


President Hee-Chang Moon said, "Tongmyong University and Silla University are innovative universities in Busan operating excellent undergraduate-centered educational programs, and Seoul School of Integrated Sciences & Technologies runs global master's and doctoral programs based in Seoul. Therefore, we expect a significant synergy effect through mutual cooperation," adding that the three universities will actively collaborate for future growth and development based on this agreement.


Tongmyong University ranked 34th worldwide in the leadership category of the 2024 WURI (World University Rankings for Innovation) announced at the 4th WURI Conference held in Switzerland on the 7th, while Seoul School of Integrated Sciences & Technologies ranked 57th in the 2024 WURI Global Top 300 overall rankings.


President Ho-Hwan Jun also expressed his aspirations for future growth, saying, "If we actively benchmark the innovative curriculum management and global network operation experience of Seoul School of Integrated Sciences & Technologies, it will be a great catalyst for the advancement of the curricula at Tongmyong University and Silla University as well."
