Popular French Band 'Mle' Comes to Korea for Concert
Food Market and Flea Market to be Held

Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seong-heon) will hold the "2024 France Street Music Festival" for cultural exchange and communication between Korea and France on the 22nd of this month from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Sinchon Yonsei-ro.
In France, since 1982, the "F?te de la Musique," where musicians perform various genres of music for free and interact with the audience on the summer solstice, has been held annually. Similar events sharing the same purpose are held worldwide, like the Sinchon performance. The district co-hosts the event with the "Embassy of France in Korea" under the theme "Ensemble."
On stage, from 4:30 p.m. for about two hours, domestic musicians such as The Bliss Korea, Noldanggabseo, Benchwireo, and the popular French band Meule, who came to Korea for this festival, will perform consecutively. Anyone visiting Sinchon during the performance time can watch for free.
Besides the performances, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., a food market, experience booths, and a flea market will operate. At the event site, various French foods such as Burgundy-style beef dishes, baguettes, crepes, and French sausages can be purchased.
Street painters and Pierrot will enhance the festival atmosphere, and domestic French bookstores "Librairie" and "Lemo" will also participate to introduce French books. The French Language Center at the Embassy of France in Korea will conduct French language education and quizzes and distribute French promotional leaflets.
Lee Seong-heon, Mayor of Seodaemun-gu, said, "We expect the France Street Music Festival to enhance the intimacy between the two countries and provide many people with leisure and enjoyment on the weekend."
