‘Reebok,’ a global sports brand operated by LF, is continuing its sell-out streak this summer with the ‘Hyperium Slide,’ a summer strategic product that is riding the wave of the 'platform sandal' trend.

According to LF on the 17th, the Hyperium Slide sold out all major sizes in the ‘Cream’ and ‘Black’ colors within two weeks of its release on the 17th of last month. Since its launch, sales of the Hyperium Slide have surged more than tenfold compared to the previous year. LF plans to respond to customer demand in real time by restocking sold-out sizes in July.

The popularity of the Hyperium Slide is analyzed to be rising as the platform sandal trend continues. Platform sandals are designed to be as comfortable as wearing sneakers. They also feature thick soles that create the effect of making the legs look longer when worn.

The Hyperium Slide released this year attracted significant consumer interest even before its launch. Thousands of customers had signed up for restock notifications before the product was re-released. This season, Reebok launched the product about two weeks earlier than last year and expanded the lineup by adding a new ‘Pink’ color.

The number of new members registering on the Reebok online store has more than doubled compared to the previous year. These customers joined to receive new member discount benefits. Among purchasing customers, those in their 20s accounted for about 40%, the largest share. Sales from customers in their 20s increased by 65% compared to the same period last year.

A Reebok representative said, “Platform sandals with soles that make the legs look longer have become the trend this summer. Reebok’s Hyperium Slide seems to have gained word-of-mouth online due to its comfortable fit that securely supports the ankles compared to other platform sandals and its reasonable price.”
