Gyeonggi Province is conducting a user survey until July to revamp the ‘Gyeonggi Bus Information App,’ which features functions such as boarding and alighting bells and past arrival time information services.
The Gyeonggi Bus Information App, which started service in 2010, maintains an average monthly usage of about 7.86 million as of the first quarter of this year.
The ‘boarding and alighting bell,’ designed to prevent buses from passing stops without stopping and to enhance user convenience, has seen an increase in users from an average of 37,709 per month in 2022 to 68,533 in 2023, and 81,956 as of the end of April 2024.
The ‘past bus arrival time information service’ improves user convenience by providing past bus arrival times at each stop, considering that routes with long dispatch intervals are indicated as ‘waiting at the garage’ on private apps, making it difficult to know the actual arrival time.
Gyeonggi Province will conduct in-depth interview surveys through a professional research agency targeting app users until July for this app revamp.
Kim Sang-su, Director of the Gyeonggi Province Transportation Bureau, stated, "Through this improvement, we will enhance the convenience and satisfaction of Gyeonggi Bus Information App users and provide services that help public transportation use."
