Seoul Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced on the 17th that it will hold a commemorative event for the '2024 Joint Wedding Photo Exhibition for People with Disabilities' at the Western Rehabilitation Sports Center until the 28th of this month.
The 'Eunpyeong-gu Joint Wedding for People with Disabilities' is an event that selects couples with disabilities who could not hold a wedding ceremony due to financial difficulties and couples celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, supporting their weddings and golden anniversaries.
This year, four couples consisting of people with disabilities and health vulnerabilities held their ceremonies. At the commemorative event held on the 14th, District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung personally presented framed wedding photos to couples who adapted and recovered within the community, met at the same workplace, started a family, but were unable to hold a wedding ceremony, as well as to three couples celebrating their golden anniversaries. The exhibition features about 20 wedding photo works commemorating the special moments of couples with disabilities.
District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung said, “I sincerely congratulate the bride and groom who held their wedding with love,” and added, “We promise to continue supporting people with disabilities so that they can build happy families.”
