10 Additional Affordable Price Businesses Designated, Expanding to a Total of 64 Locations
Support Planned Twice a Year with Necessary Supplies Worth 700,000 KRW and Promotion via Old Website
Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) announced on the 17th that it will designate 10 additional “Good Price Businesses” that provide high-quality services at affordable prices, contributing to price stabilization, expanding the total to 64 locations.
“Good Price Businesses” are establishments that offer friendly services to consumers at affordable prices despite price increases caused by raw material costs and minimum wage hikes. These businesses include local restaurants, bathhouses, beauty salons, and laundries. They are designated if the prices of their main items are below the regional average and they meet standards for service and hygiene.
To designate Good Price Businesses, the district accepted applications (recommendations) from business owners and residents from April 1 to 23. Through on-site inspections and in-depth evaluations of prices, hygiene, and disqualifications, 10 new businesses were designated.
In early May, the district supported the businesses designated in the second half of last year with necessary supplies such as kitchen detergents. For the 64 designated businesses this time, the district plans to provide necessary supplies worth about 700,000 KRW twice a year, along with Good Price Business certification plaques and certificates, and promote them through the district website.
Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, “In a prolonged high-price situation, we will actively work to revitalize Good Price Businesses that maintain affordable prices and participate in price stabilization, so that the local economy can stabilize.”
