Yongin City to Hold Public Hearing on 'Yongin City Landscape Plan Revision' on the 4th of Next Month

'Landscape Plan' is a statutory plan established to preserve the unique natural landscape, historical and cultural landscape, and urban and rural landscapes of the region, to improve and restore damaged landscapes, and to manage new landscapes distinctively; it is revised every five years.

This revision of the landscape plan aims to establish a landscape management plan until 2035, reflecting the changes in urban conditions since the 'Yongin City 2030 Basic Landscape Plan' was established in 2018.

The city explained that this revision focuses on protecting and managing the existing landscape in areas where large-scale development projects have become possible due to the lifting of the Songtan water source protection zone, resetting landscape zones to ensure that newly formed landscapes harmonize with existing ones, and presenting guidelines accordingly. In particular, the city subdivided the guidelines, which were previously divided into two categories?buildings and colors?into ▲buildings ▲roads and streetscapes ▲outdoor advertisements ▲open spaces ▲urban infrastructure ▲colors.

Additionally, a section of about 1 km between Suwon and Singal Tollgate to Singal Intersection and a 1 km section of Dongbaekjukjeon-daero between Cheongdeok-dong and Dongbaek-dong were selected as pilot sites for landscape projects, and the areas of two locations?Kimryangjang-dong and Jeondae-ri in Cheoin-gu?among the seven key landscape management zones were expanded.

The city will conduct a public inspection of the proposed changes to the key landscape management zones until the day of the public hearing. Citizens who wish to inspect can visit the City Hall Urban Planning Division or check the announcement section on the city’s website.

After the public hearing, the city plans to finalize the 'Yongin City 2035 Landscape Plan Revision' in the second half of this year after hearing opinions from the City Council and reviewing by the Landscape Committee.
