Hwang Woo-yeo, the emergency committee chairman of the People Power Party, criticized at the party-government-Presidential Office council held at the Prime Minister's residence in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, saying, "The opposition party, which is the majority, is acting as if it occupies all seats in the National Assembly, and legislative unilateralism and dictatorship are visible."
He added, "Even though there are many national issues, when the majority party acts arbitrarily, there will be arguments about the uselessness of the National Assembly and much public criticism," and said, "We will do our best to persuade the opposition party and make reasonable alternatives."
Choo Kyung-ho, the floor leader of the People Power Party, pointed out at this meeting, "Currently, our government and ruling party are facing the largest opposition party in the history of the constitutional government that is most uncooperative with state affairs." He also said, "There is no time to lament or blame others for this political situation," and urged, "We must consult more closely between the party and government to take care of people's livelihoods and do what is necessary for the people," adding, "We have formed 16 party special committees to address urgent livelihood issues, and we ask the government to accelerate the development of related policies."
Jung Jin-suk, Chief of Staff to the President, said, "The National Assembly continues a strong confrontation, increasing public concern," and expressed hope that "the National Assembly will normalize as soon as possible and that the government and the National Assembly will work together to solve the pressing livelihood issues."
