Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it will open 13 urban park water playgrounds early starting from the 22nd due to the unseasonably early heatwave.
The water playgrounds opening in the southern area include ▲Baemi ▲Sinheung ▲Segyo ▲Wonpyeong ▲Muljangu ▲Naeri Cultural Park, totaling 6 locations. In the northern area, there are 4 locations: ▲Sopung Garden ▲Sinjang ▲Godeok Waterfront ▲Buraksan Cultural Park. The western area includes 3 locations: ▲Hyeonhwa ▲Dogok ▲Suchon Park.
The water playgrounds will operate only on weekends from the 22nd until July 14th, and during the summer vacation period from July 19th to August 18th, they will also operate on weekdays. Operating hours are from 1 PM to 5 PM, running in cycles of 45 minutes of operation followed by 15 minutes of rest. The facilities will be closed every Monday for inspection and cleaning.
The city plans to ensure pleasant and safe water play facilities by replacing the water daily, conducting water quality tests twice a month, and assigning at least two safety personnel who have completed professional training at each facility.
A city official stated, "We will do our best to maintain hygiene and prevent safety accidents so that children visiting the water playgrounds can enjoy them with peace of mind," and urged, "Please follow the usage methods and precautions for each facility to ensure safe water play."
