Mayor Hong said, "I am grateful for the hard work of all social workers who have served as a safety net for our neighbors on the front lines of welfare. I will do my utmost to ensure that social workers can work with pride and a sense of fulfillment by improving their rights and treatment."

He added, "Various issues arising from low birth rates and an aging population continue to occur. Our city is also promoting various policies that citizens can feel, such as building welfare infrastructure and providing customized welfare services, to address these problems. I ask for your active cooperation and participation in establishing a social safety net where the socially disadvantaged are not left behind."
