Starting with five members of the open water swimming national team from the Korea Swimming Federation on the 3rd, 28 yacht national team athletes gathered at Soho Yacht Stadium on the 10th to begin training. Additionally, about 30 members of the yacht national reserve team will join the training in July.

In particular, the yacht national team’s training period will last about four months until September 30, with various classes such as 470 mixed, 49er, ILCA7, ILCA6, IQ FOIL, and Formula Kite sailing across the waters off Yeosu.

Furthermore, the Hyundai Glovis rugby team, which completed their winter training camp in Yeosu, plans to return for the summer season with about 30 members.

Yoon Kyung-hee, Director of the Sports Support Division, stated, “Yeosu is gaining attention as a training camp destination due to its mild climate suitable for training, sports facility infrastructure, and opportunities for various tourism and experiences alongside training. We will prepare various support measures to attract even more teams to Yeosu.”

Meanwhile, Yeosu City and the Yeosu City Sports Council are passionately engaged in attracting training camps through customized sports marketing activities.

They offer various support measures to training teams, including △rental and usage fee support for public sports facilities △provision of Yeosu’s representative specialties and snacks △support for tourism and experience costs △provision of meals and banquets, and are working to provide convenience for athletes by replacing old exercise equipment in fitness centers and renovating sports facilities.
