Jeongeup-si to Conduct 'Mining and Manufacturing Survey' Until the 23rd of Next Month

Jeongeup City in Jeollabuk-do will conduct the "2023 Mining and Manufacturing Survey" from the 18th of this month to the 23rd of next month.

According to the city on the 13th, the Mining and Manufacturing Survey, now in its 46th year, is one of the "Integrated Economic Statistics Surveys" led by the Statistics Korea to minimize duplicate surveys and reduce the response burden on businesses. It is conducted simultaneously with seven other economic statistical surveys.

The survey targets all mining and manufacturing businesses (101 locations) that have workplaces in the region, have operated for at least one month during 2023, and have 10 or more employees as of the end of December 2023.

The main survey items include 13 categories such as the number of employees, annual wages, operating expenses, annual shipment value and inventory value by product, and tangible assets.

This survey will be conducted through face-to-face interviews by surveyors, and various survey methods such as internet, fax, email, and telephone will be used concurrently to accommodate respondents' convenience.

The collected data will undergo content review and be aggregated by industry, employee size, shipment value size, number of businesses, and number of employees. The survey results will serve as basic data for policy formulation by national and local governments and as population data for various sample surveys targeting mining and manufacturing sectors.

The results are scheduled to be provisionally announced in December and finalized in January 2025, after which they will be provided on the National Statistical Portal.

A city official stated, "Although these are difficult times for everyone, accurate statistical compilation is essential to establish statistics-based policies, so we ask for active participation and responses from businesses. All surveyed information is strictly protected under the Statistics Act (Article 33 on confidentiality) and will only be used for statistical purposes, so there is no need to worry."
