Lee Sun-kyun's Final Work 'Escape' to Hit Theaters on July 12

Lee Sun-kyun's Final Work 'Escape' to Hit Theaters on July 12

The late Lee Seon-gyun's final film, "Escape: Project Silence" (hereafter "Escape"), is set to be released on July 12, CJ ENM announced on the 13th.

The film was invited to the Midnight Screening section of the non-competitive category at last May's Cannes Film Festival but was not immediately released. The lead actor Lee Seon-gyun passed away on December 28 last year while under investigation for drug use linked to entertainment establishments, causing the release to be temporarily postponed. However, the release date has now been set for this summer.

"Escape" depicts the story of people fighting for survival after a series of chain collision accidents occur in dense fog, and an uncontrollable military experimental dog is unleashed on the collapsing Airport Bridge.

Lee Seon-gyun plays Jung-won, an administrative officer at the National Security Office, and Ju Ji-hoon portrays Jo Bak, a tow truck driver who rushes to the scene upon hearing about the chain collision accident. Kim Hee-won appears as Dr. Yang, the lead researcher of "Project Silence." The film is directed by Kim Tae-gon, known for the 2016 film "Goodbye Single," and produced by Vlad Studio, led by director Kim Yong-hwa.
