Completion of Norunsan and Yeongdonggyo Alley Market Design Pavement Construction... Aiming to Revitalize Traditional Market Commerce
Colorful Patterns Representing Each Market Used... Equipped with Anti-Slip Function
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) recently completed the design floor paving construction at Norunsan Alley Market and Yeongdonggyo Alley Market to revitalize traditional market commercial districts and ensure the safety of visitors.
Both alley markets had not been maintained for a long time due to surrounding area redevelopment, causing wear and tear on the floors and aging facilities, making reorganization urgent. Accordingly, the district completed road repaving last year and has been preparing new design floor paving since March this year through continuous communication with each merchants' association.
The construction covered an area of ▲216㎡ at Norunsan Alley Market and ▲432㎡ at Yeongdonggyo Alley Market. Using colorful patterns and designs such as wave motifs symbolizing harmony and straight line motifs representing development and progress, a fresher and more pleasant alley market atmosphere was created.
In particular, the design flooring includes anti-slip features to prevent safety accidents for merchants and market visitors.
Gwangjin-gu expects that this design floor paving will brighten the alley market atmosphere and provide various attractions and entertainment for traditional market visitors.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We promoted the design floor paving construction to breathe new life into the stagnant traditional markets and contribute to revitalizing the local commercial districts. We will continue to actively communicate with merchants' associations and do our best to devise measures to strengthen the competitiveness of traditional markets.”
