Cooperation in Operating Prospective Teacher Training and Haeundae Basic Academic Support Center
The Graduate School of Education and the Department of Education at Dong-A University have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Haeundae Office of Education in Busan.
The signing ceremony, held recently at the main conference room of the Haeundae Office of Education in Busan, was attended by President Cho Gyupan, Superintendent Won Mikyung, Professor Kang Gisu (Department of Education), and other officials from both institutions.
Through this agreement, the two institutions pledged to collaborate for the development of the local community and education by jointly utilizing infrastructure and promoting exchanges.
The main points of the agreement include: ▲promoting educational donation projects ▲developing and operating practical training programs for the cultivation of prospective teachers ▲jointly operating educational programs such as the 'Visiting Learning Clinic' to improve basic academic skills and restore educational standards.
President Cho Gyupan stated, "The sharp decline in the school-age population and the cultural gap between generations are becoming significant burdens for administrators and teachers in the field of education," and added, "Through this agreement, we hope to see a variety of outcomes, such as the development and operation of high-quality practical training programs to enhance the understanding and practical skills of prospective teachers in school settings."
Kim Myungshin, a graduate student majoring in music education who attended the signing ceremony, said, "Through this MOU, I was able to better understand the changing educational environment and learn the virtues required of teachers," and added, "I will actively promote and utilize various programs developed and operated through exchanges between local governments and universities, and strive to grow into a good teacher together with my fellow students."
Jung Donghun, a fourth-year student in the Department of Education, said, "I believe that with Dong-A University and the Haeundae Office of Education working together to support educational activities in the Busan area, many students in Busan will now have access to quality education," and added, "I was glad to participate as a student representative in this meaningful signing ceremony, and I hope that more initiatives like this will be launched in the future."
