At the 2024 Korean Society of Design Spring International Conference held at Yonsei University on the 8th, President McMurray delivered the keynote speech, saying, "Design transformation acts as a catalyst that sparks innovation and advances humanity as a whole." He presented under the theme "Design Transformation that Sparks Innovation." The Korean Society of Design, established in 1972, is a leading academic organization in the design field with approximately 7,200 members.
President McMurray referred to the recently launched Cadillac electric vehicle Lyriq in Korea and explained elements that embody GM's future design philosophy. According to the company, the vehicle’s design is inspired by the "rhythm of nature," harmoniously blending traditional heritage with next-generation technological elements to showcase the brand’s unique design identity. GM has previously announced plans to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040 and to switch all automotive materials to 100% sustainable materials.
