'30th Anniversary' POSCO E&C Shares Success Stories on Internal App

POSCO E&C, celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, has launched the '30th Anniversary Success Story App' internally to share the history of growth and challenges with its employees and use it as a stepping stone for further advancement.

According to POSCO E&C on the 11th, the app features 30 carefully selected success stories out of over 1,200 stories recommended by each business division, including Plant, Infrastructure, Architecture, and Research & Development (R&D). Since its launch at the end of April, as of the 10th of this month, 67 stories and more than 320 comments have been posted. Employees share their firsthand feelings of accomplishment and alienation experienced while carrying out projects in the field, as well as vivid experiences passed down from seniors and colleagues.


For example, an employee who participated in the Mozambique road construction project completed in July 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic shared their experience of fighting malaria and coronavirus on-site to complete the project on schedule. This led to a series of touching stories, with employees who participated in the project expressing gratitude for the colleagues who supported and encouraged them. In addition to success stories, failure cases personally experienced or heard from seniors are also shared, drawing attention.


Kim Min-sik, a new employee who joined this year, said, "By accessing stories directly experienced by seniors through the app, I was able to feel camaraderie and pride in the company. I want to take this as an opportunity to learn lessons and grow into a key player leading the next 30 years."


As the stories continue in a relay format, the tree on the app’s initial screen also shows signs of bearing fruit and growing, reflecting employees’ interest and affection. POSCO E&C plans to add various participation boards in the app, including short-form videos and handwritten letters.


POSCO E&C is striving to make the 30th anniversary a meaningful year where all employees reaffirm their commitment, rather than a one-time event. In January this year, they unveiled an emblem called 'Eco & Challenge,' inspired by the tree rings. They are also working on visualizing the characteristics of the success stories (Flexible Identity).


A POSCO E&C official said, "Despite difficult internal and external conditions this year, based on a culture of 'challenge and innovation,' all employees plan to overcome the crisis together and continue to leap forward toward the future."
