Creation of 185 Parking Spaces in 13 Public Parking Lots Including District Offices
Guro-gu (Mayor Moon Heon-il) has created a total of 185 'Family-Friendly Parking' spaces across 13 public parking lots.
The district converted the existing women-only parking spaces into family-friendly parking spaces to foster a parking culture that considers various vulnerable road users such as pregnant women, caregivers of infants and young children, and the elderly in an era of low birth rates and aging population.
Last year, the district partially amended the "Seoul Metropolitan City Guro-gu Parking Lot Installation and Management Ordinance" to establish specific installation grounds and standards.
The eligible users are ▲ pregnant women or those accompanying pregnant women ▲ those accompanying infants and young children ▲ elderly individuals or those who have difficulty moving in daily life or those accompanying such individuals.
The newly created family-friendly parking spaces are located near parking lot entrances, elevators, and stairs, ensuring easy accessibility and mobility, and are situated in bright areas without blind spots to guarantee safety.
In particular, the parking lots display a white background with the 'Family-Friendly Parking' pictogram and text to make them easily recognizable upon entry.
Mayor Moon Heon-il of Guro-gu said, “Through the installation of family-friendly parking spaces, we hope to cultivate a culture that respects and considers various vulnerable road users in line with the era of low birth rates and aging population. We will do our best to ensure that diverse vulnerable road users can use parking lots safely and conveniently.”
