Plan to Establish Anseong Industrial Promotion Agency Next Year for Testbed Construction and Workforce Development
Anseong City in Gyeonggi Province is set to actively promote support projects for the creation of a 'Semiconductor Materials, Parts, and Equipment (SoBuJang) Specialized Complex.'
On the 10th, Anseong City announced that it discussed plans to foster the specialized complex aimed at strengthening semiconductor SoBuJang technology competitiveness and completing the ecosystem value chain at the 'SoBuJang Specialized Complex Promotion Team General Meeting' held in Busan on the 5th, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

The meeting was organized to discuss support plans and cooperation model configurations for the five government-designated SoBuJang specialized complexes: Anseong (semiconductor equipment), Busan (power semiconductors), Daegu (motors), Gwangju (autonomous driving), and Osong (bio). Previously, Anseong's 'Dongsin General Industrial Complex,' covering approximately 1.57 million square meters in Dongsin-ri, Bogae-myeon, was designated as a semiconductor SoBuJang specialized complex in July last year.
To implement a tailored support strategy for the specialized complex, Anseong City plans to establish the 'Anseong Industrial Promotion Agency' next year and build a semiconductor workforce training center by 2030 to comprehensively support companies and personnel. Alongside this, efforts to improve regulations and resolve corporate difficulties will be pursued to expedite the establishment of the specialized complex.
In particular, the Dongsin Semiconductor SoBuJang Specialized Complex will begin full-scale customized support projects from the second half of the year under the 'Materials, Parts, and Equipment Industry Act,' including technology development for SoBuJang companies, establishment of a testbed for demonstration support, and workforce training. Approximately 41.5 billion KRW in national funding will be provided over the next five years.
The city plans to nurture the semiconductor SoBuJang specialized complex as a key hub for maintaining a technological lead in advanced strategic technologies and as a hinterland complex for integrated semiconductor companies by fostering cooperation with specialized research institutions and continuously preparing corporate support measures.
