Asan-si, 180 Habitually Delinquent Vehicles' License Plates Seized Asan City, Chungnam Province, identified 180 vehicles with overdue automobile taxes and fines last month and confiscated their license plates.

Asan City in Chungnam announced on the 10th that it identified 180 vehicles with overdue automobile taxes and fines during the month of May and confiscated their license plates.

The crackdown targeted vehicles with two or more overdue automobile tax payments within the province, three or more nationwide overdue automobile tax payments, and those with automobile-related fines exceeding 300,000 KRW.

In particular, the city implemented the 'On-site License Plate Return Service,' which received great support from both citizens and staff.

A city official stated, "Most overdue cases occur because people are busy with their livelihoods and neglect managing their payments," adding, "Our collection department staff are making great efforts to reduce the inconvenience for those who suddenly had their license plates confiscated but have since completed full payment."
