Chat in Real-Time with Your Favorite Webtoon Characters... Naver Webtoon Launches 'Character Chat'

Naver Webtoon has introduced 'Character Chat,' an AI-based service that allows users to have conversations with characters from webtoons.

On the 10th, Naver Webtoon added 'Character Chat' to the More section within its app. Users can select their desired characters, such as 'Chulchul Cell' from the webtoon Yumi's Cells or 'Ki Sang-ho' from Garbage Time, and engage in conversations with them.

These characters are AI models trained on the works with the consent of the webtoon creators. The service is based on Naver's large-scale AI, 'HyperCLOVA X.' Users can access the service by purchasing message credits.

Naver Webtoon introduced Character Chat to enhance consumer satisfaction and increase platform engagement time by linking its intellectual property (IP) with technology. Webtoon fans can gain the experience of directly interacting with their favorite characters through this service.

Naver Webtoon is also preparing a 'Caricature' service utilizing AI and webtoon IP. In addition to 'Toon Filter,' which transforms photos into webtoon-style illustrations using AI, various new services will be launched.
