[Rebuttal Report] Regarding

In the May 9th edition on page 23, this newspaper reported in the article titled “Seongnam City Actually Eliminates Youth Support” that “Seongnam City decided not to participate in the provincial matching project that supports unemployed youth with up to 300,000 KRW for language and qualification exam fees and course fees.”

In response, Seongnam City clarified that it is not “eliminating youth support,” but rather providing more support to unemployed youth compared to the “Gyeonggi Youth Capacity Enhancement Opportunity Support Project” conducted by Gyeonggi Province.

While the Gyeonggi Province project supports up to 300,000 KRW per person, Seongnam City provides more than three times that amount. Therefore, it did not participate in the Gyeonggi Province project. Since June 2023, through the “Unemployed Youth Support Project ALL-Pass,” Seongnam City has been supporting unemployed youth with up to 1,000,000 KRW per person (2,000,000 KRW for low-income youth) for language and qualification exam fees and course fees. In addition, the city has been implementing various policies that can provide practical help to youth, such as the Housing Safety Package, startup funding support, startup education, and consulting.

This report is made in accordance with the mediation of the Press Arbitration Commission.
