The new film "Wonderland," directed by Kim Tae-yong and starring actors Tang Wei and Park Bo-gum, topped the box office during its opening weekend.


According to the Korea Film Council's integrated ticketing system on the 10th, "Wonderland" attracted 237,799 viewers over the three-day weekend (7th to 9th), securing the number one spot at the box office. Its revenue share was 25.4%. The film, which was released on the 5th, has accumulated a total audience of 468,804.


The movie tells the story of reuniting with loved ones through "Wonderland," a video call service that restores deceased people using artificial intelligence (AI). Directed by Kim Tae-yong, known for works such as "Late Autumn" (2011), the film features Tang Wei, Park Bo-gum, Jung Yu-mi, Choi Woo-shik, and Bae Suzy, each completing their own episodes.


"Furiosa: Mad Max Saga," the sequel to "Mad Max: Fury Road" (2015) directed by George Miller, ranked second with 187,925 viewers. Released on the 22nd of last month, it has drawn a cumulative audience of 1,418,628.


The third to sixth places were "She Died" (93,321 viewers), "Crime City 4" (71,917 viewers), "Bad Guys" (71,871 viewers), and "The Designer" (52,184 viewers), respectively. The total number of moviegoers over the weekend reached 911,530.


With the release of Disney·Pixar's animation "Inside Out 2" on the 12th, the box office rankings are expected to change. The first film, "Inside Out" (2015), was a hit in Korea, attracting 4.97 million viewers, and interest in the sequel is high. As of 9:30 AM on the 10th, "Inside Out 2" holds the top real-time reservation rate at 54.0% (128,510 tickets). The second place is "Drive," starring Park Ju-hyun (21,645 tickets), followed by "Wonderland" (15,334 tickets) in third place.
