Reclassification of Over 200 Virtual Assets
On the 10th, Dunamu announced the launch of the "Upbit Sector Index," which includes virtual assets supported for trading on Upbit, through its virtual asset index service UBCI.
The sector index classifies virtual assets supported for trading on Upbit according to their primary use cases and groups virtual assets with the same use case into an index. The sector index is updated monthly through monitoring.
The sector indices released on UBCI this month include a total of 32 indices such as △Artificial Intelligence (AI) △Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT) & Gaming △Metaverse (Extended Virtual World) △Decentralized Finance (DeFi) △Community △Decentralized Identity Verification (DID), among others.
Additionally, Dunamu revamped the existing Upbit Virtual Asset Classification System (UBCS) and reclassified over 200 virtual assets accordingly. The classification consists of major categories (5), medium categories (15), and minor categories (31). The major categories are divided into △Infrastructure △Smart Contract Platforms △DeFi △Culture & Entertainment △Meme.
Dunamu improved the classification accuracy of virtual assets through quantitative verification based on on-chain and off-chain data. They plan to update the system semiannually according to market conditions.
A Dunamu representative stated, "Compared to the stock market, the virtual asset market lacks sufficient information, so the Upbit Virtual Asset Classification System is expected to serve as reliable foundational data." They added, "Investors can easily check which category the virtual asset they want to invest in belongs to and make informed investment decisions."
