Practicing Carbon Neutrality in Daily Life
The Small and Medium Business Corporation announced on the 10th that it conducted the 'Shall We Walk, Value Walk' step donation campaign last month. This campaign was promoted to engrave the importance of carbon neutrality through walking in daily life and to pledge the will to practice the greenhouse gas reduction target.
Inspired by the 2030 greenhouse gas reduction target of 11.4%, the Corporation set a goal of donating 114 million steps and carried out the campaign for one month from May 2 to May 31.
A total of 1,069 employees from the Corporation’s headquarters and 42 field departments nationwide, along with 6,004 general citizens, participated, recording a cumulative total of 372.35 million steps, exceeding the goal by 327%.
To commemorate the achievement of this campaign goal, the Corporation plans to continue various activities for improving residential environments and reducing greenhouse gases, including donating funds necessary for ‘Green Remodeling’ for energy-vulnerable groups in local communities.
Kang Seok-jin, Chairman of the Small and Medium Business Corporation, said, “This campaign was a success with the participation of both the Corporation’s employees and the general public, achieving the goal and practicing carbon neutrality,” adding, “We will continue to strengthen win-win cooperation with local communities through support for green remodeling for vulnerable groups and make greater efforts to achieve the national greenhouse gas reduction target for 2030.”
