IT Professionals' Preferred Top Mobile Carrier: SK Telecom Ranks 1st Among the Three Major Carriers

8 out of 10 Say "AI Transition Essential"

Among the three major domestic mobile carriers, SK Telecom was found to be the most preferred company by IT professionals. A tendency to prioritize companies' AI transformation efforts and employees' acquisition of AI capabilities was also confirmed.

The workplace application "Remember" conducted a survey on perceptions of corporate AI transformation among 511 IT professionals in South Korea from the 6th to the 17th of last month.


When asked which of the top 50 companies by revenue is leading in AI transformation (multiple answers allowed up to 3), Samsung Electronics ranked first, SK Telecom second, Hyundai Motor Company and KT tied for third, and LG Electronics ranked fifth.


Following were SK Hynix in sixth, LG Uplus seventh, Samsung SDI eighth, Hyundai Mobis ninth, and LG Energy Solution tenth.


In particular, as all three mobile carriers attempt to transform into AI companies, the preference among IT professionals ranked SK Telecom first, KT second, and LG Uplus third.


When asked about the factors used to assess the degree of a company's AI transformation (multiple answers allowed up to 3), more than 7 out of 10 respondents (73.2%) answered "In-house AI technology development and acquisition."


Next were "Sales of AI-embedded products and services (63.2%)," "Introduction of AI elements into internal work systems (40.9%)," and "Proportion of AI-related revenue and operating profit (25.2%)."


To the question "Do you think companies that do not pursue AI transformation will find it difficult to guarantee their future survival?" 78.9% of all respondents answered "Yes."


When asked "Should companies without in-house AI technology promote AI transformation by adopting external AI technology if necessary?" 82.0% of all respondents answered "Yes."


Also, to the question "Regardless of the current job category, do you think acquiring AI capabilities is essential?" 84.3% of all respondents answered "Yes."


When asked whether companies engaged in businesses unrelated to AI should actively recruit AI-related personnel, 52.6% responded "Yes."


Meanwhile, Remember (operated by Drama & Company), used by about 4.5 million workers, is promoting the digital transformation of recruitment and job search services such as experienced professional scouting. Recently, it launched a premium job posting service targeting the top 30% of experienced professionals with annual salaries above 50 million KRW.
