[Tomorrow's Weather] Heatwave Over 30°C During the Day... Daegu and Gumi Up to 33°C

On Monday the 10th, daytime temperatures will rise above 30 degrees Celsius in most parts of the country, with some areas experiencing a heat index exceeding 31 degrees Celsius.

The sky will be mostly clear with occasional clouds, and from afternoon to evening, there will be showers in the inland areas of southern Gangwon, the central and southern mountainous regions of Gangwon, northern Chungbuk, inland Gyeongbuk, and the inland areas of Ulsan and northwestern and central Gyeongnam.

On the 10th, the nationwide morning low temperatures are expected to range from 15 to 20 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs from 26 to 33 degrees Celsius, which is higher than the average (morning lows 15 to 18 degrees, daytime highs 23 to 28 degrees).

The expected low and high temperatures for major cities on the 10th are Seoul 19°C and 30°C, Incheon 18°C and 26°C, Daejeon 18°C and 31°C, Gwangju 19°C and 31°C, Daegu 19°C and 33°C, Ulsan 18°C and 30°C, and Busan 20°C and 27°C.

Along with Daegu, the Gumi area is also expected to reach a daytime high of 33 degrees Celsius.

The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasts that due to high humidity, the heat index will continue to exceed 31 degrees Celsius in some areas for the time being.

Accordingly, heat-related illnesses may occur, so it is advised to drink plenty of water and avoid strenuous outdoor activities as much as possible. Infants, the elderly, and those with chronic illnesses should take care of their health, and outdoor workplaces should prepare cool water and rest areas.

From the afternoon to nighttime on the 10th, showers falling in the inland areas of southern Gangwon, the central and southern mountainous regions of Gangwon, northern Chungbuk, inland Gyeongbuk, and the inland areas of Ulsan and northwestern and central Gyeongnam will be concentrated in narrow areas for a short time, falling heavily at times, accompanied by gusty winds, thunder, and lightning.

Expected rainfall amounts are 5 to 20 mm in the inland areas of southern Gangwon and the central and southern mountainous regions of Gangwon, 5 to 20 mm in northern Chungbuk, 5 to 40 mm in Daegu and inland Gyeongbuk, and 5 to 30 mm in the inland areas of Ulsan and northwestern and central Gyeongnam.
