Daegu Business Association: Dongwon Yakpum, Woosung Steel, and Daeyoung Electronics Each Donate 20 Million Won for Low Birthrate Fund

The executive board of the Daegu Business Association delivered a donation of 60 million KRW to Gyeongbuk Province through the Community Chest of Korea on the 7th at the Gyeongbuk Provincial Government Office to help overcome the low birth rate.


The member companies of the Daegu Business Association executive board?Dongwon Yakpum Co., Ltd. (Chairman Hyun Suhwan), Woosung Steel Co., Ltd. (Chairman Kim Youngman), and Daeyoung Electronics Co., Ltd. (Chairman Baek Sejae)?each donated 20 million KRW.

Dongwon Yakpum Co., Ltd., which participated in the fundraising, specializes in pharmaceutical distribution; Woosung Steel Co., Ltd. manufactures industrial steel products; and Daeyoung Electronics Co., Ltd. produces electrical and electronic components. All are leading local companies.


Baek Sejae, Chairman of the Daegu Business Association, stated, "I am pleased to be able to participate, even in a small way, in the low birth rate campaign that Gyeongbuk Province is leading for the first time in the nation," adding, "As a businessperson, I deeply empathize with the issue of low birth rates, and I will consider what companies can do to help overcome this crisis together."


Lee Cheolwoo, Governor of Gyeongbuk Province, expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thank you to the executive board members of the Daegu Business Association for your donation to address the low birth rate issue. Active support policies from businesses are extremely important for overcoming low birth rates. I ask that our Daegu Business Association companies implement the best policies in the country."


Meanwhile, the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea, the organization leading the 'Low Birth Rate Overcoming Fundraising Campaign,' has been collecting donations from individuals, organizations, businesses, and overseas Koreans. Since the campaign began in March, it is reported that over 2.9 billion KRW has been raised.
