The author stated, "I closed down my own business and started working in food ingredient delivery, but the hygiene conditions in each store are no joke," adding, "Especially in department store food courts and delivery-only stores without dining areas, there is a reason why they are hidden from outside view."
He reported, "The stench is overwhelming," and "There are ashtrays, leftover alcohol, food, and all kinds of trash in the kitchen."
He continued, "I've been in business for a long time, but I'm shocked at how food can be prepared and sold in such places," and said, "It's to the point where you can't buy food there."
The author attached photos and explained, "This is a famous franchise restaurant inside a department store in Busan." The photos showed a sink area with dozens of small cockroaches crawling around the drain next to a bag of meat.
He said he reported the issue three times but nothing changed, adding, "When I reported it to the district office, they said they were conducting pest control themselves but that fundamental pest control measures must be taken by the business."
He added, "The cockroaches were of various sizes, and there was no corner inside the refrigerator without them," and claimed, "In my opinion, there are millions of cockroaches throughout the entire department store."
He urged, "I hope many people are well aware of this fact and make informed decisions when buying food," and advised, "Please make sure the store has a dining area before ordering delivery. I have more related photos, but I am posting only one for our sake." It is known that this store uses pest control and extermination service providers.
Netizens who read the post responded with comments such as, "This should be reported to the department store," "Food courts really have many problems," "It's surprising since department stores manage hygiene very strictly. Maybe it differs by company?" and "From now on, we should only eat at properly open kitchens."
