On the 5th, the two organizations signed a "Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Development of Seoul's AI Ecosystem" at the Seoul Smart City Center, attended by key figures including Kang Yo-sik, Chairman of the Seoul Digital Foundation, and Bae Seong-hwan, President of the Korea IT Professionals Association (CEO of RSN).

This agreement aims to foster the AI industry and promote a sustainable AI ecosystem in Seoul by combining the Seoul Digital Foundation's capabilities in planning and developing AI public services with the Korea IT Professionals Association's expert network of approximately 500 member companies, including CEOs and university professors.

Since its establishment in 2016, the Seoul Digital Foundation has strengthened the competitiveness of Smart City Seoul by conducting research and development of AI public services, citizen education, and corporate support. The Korea IT Professionals Association, founded in 1985, is an IT expert organization that has played a leading role in South Korea's development as an IT powerhouse.

Through this MOU, the two organizations plan to promote △ public interest activities for implementing scientific administration in Seoul △ support for nurturing promising IT companies and discovering business opportunities △ information exchange for startups and SMEs to expand overseas △ utilization of solutions from Korea IT Professionals Association member companies.

By sharing knowledge and experience among various experts from the private sector, public sector, and academia for Seoul's AI policy research and service development, it is expected to bring about new innovative advancements in Seoul's AI administration.

Chairman Kang said, "For super-large AI technology to spread across all fields, it is important to continuously discover cooperation points without distinction between private and public sectors," adding, "This MOU will serve as a catalyst for that."

President Bae emphasized, "We will concentrate all capabilities, including AI and big data technologies and professional personnel possessed by our member companies, to ensure the successful promotion of projects with the Seoul Digital Foundation, and closely coordinate with the government and institutions to contribute to the development of the AI ecosystem."
