BBQ Recruits Attorney Kim Taehee from Global No.1 Law Firm

Chairman Yoon Hong-geun, Who Declared 'New Talent Management,' Takes Charge of Overseas Legal Affairs and Brand Marketing

Genesis BBQ Group announced on the 5th that it has recruited Kim Tae-hee, a U.S. attorney formerly of Samsung's legal team and global law firm Leatham & Watkins, as the youngest executive director.

Going forward, Executive Director Kim will serve as the Executive Director of the Global Branding Strategy Office and Head of the Global Legal & Branding Team at Genesis BBQ Group, overseeing overseas legal affairs including global business, as well as brand marketing centered on new-concept culture including digital.

Born in 1992, Executive Director Kim is a talented multilingual professional fluent in English, French, and German. He entered the prestigious Georgetown University in the U.S. early at age 16, graduated early with honors, and also graduated with honors from Georgetown Law School with a Master of Laws (LLM) and Juris Doctor (J.D.) degrees.

Executive Director Kim ranked in the top 1% on the Washington D.C. bar exam and simultaneously joined Leatham & Watkins, the world's number one law firm at the time (currently ranked second globally by revenue), where he distinguished himself in M&A and corporate advisory fields.

He later worked in Samsung Biologics' legal team and served as the youngest executive director and Chief Legal Officer at the Korean branch of the British global company BMS Group. Until this spring, he was active in the corporate advisory group at the law firm Hwawoo.

Executive Director Kim joined Genesis BBQ Group following an invitation from Chairman Yoon Hong-geun, who declared a "new talent management" initiative. Chairman Yoon emphasized early last year, "Ultimately, excellent talent saves companies," and stated, "We will open a new era of talent management by discovering and nurturing young and fresh talent with the industry's best treatment to leap forward as the world's largest and best dining company."

Despite the economic downturn and rising prices leading other companies to abolish open recruitment and reduce hiring, Genesis BBQ Group is boldly moving forward in line with the global era by raising the annual salary for new college graduate employees (based on SV, FC field positions) by 33.5% to 45.4 million KRW.
