According to the Jongno Police Station in Seoul on the 5th, at around 10:45 a.m., a village bus climbing the hill in front of Sangmyung University in Jongno-gu, Seoul, slipped backward and crashed into the stairs of a nearby house.


The Jongno Fire Station in Seoul activated the Emergency Rescue Control Team based on the judgment of the on-site commander. The Emergency Rescue Control Team is a temporary organization established to comprehensively coordinate and manage emergency rescue operations when there is a high possibility of a disaster or when a disaster occurs.


As a result of this accident, 2 passengers sustained serious injuries, and the bus driver along with 35 passengers, totaling 36 people, suffered minor injuries. All of them have been confirmed to have no life-threatening conditions. The police plan to investigate whether the bus driver was driving under the influence of alcohol.


The hill near Sangmyung University has frequent accidents due to its steep slope. On the 10th of last month, a bus also slipped, causing collisions with 10 vehicles and resulting in minor injuries to 3 passengers.
