Jeju Maritime Police Station (Chief So Byung-yong) announced on the 5th that it has produced and distributed ‘Life Jacket Wearing Promotional Stickers’ to prevent water play safety accidents during the summer and to emphasize the importance of wearing life jackets.
Jeju Maritime Police collaborated with the Jeju branch of MG Saemaeul Geumgo Central Association to distribute a total of 12,000 promotional stickers for life jacket wearing to 75 MG Saemaeul Geumgo stores across 42 branches in the province.
The promotional stickers were planned as part of the ongoing summer safety accident prevention campaign, ‘Mulnori Heolttaerang Gumyungjocki Ipge Masim’ (Wear a Life Jacket When Playing in Water), and are attached in an easily recognizable way to newly issued Saemaeul Geumgo bankbooks and insurance certificates.
They were also created to raise awareness among Saemaeul Geumgo users about water play safety and to highlight the importance of wearing life jackets.
Kim Chang-nam, director of Jeju Halla Saemaeul Geumgo, said, “As a financial cooperative serving ordinary citizens, providing stable financial services to customers is important, but we also believe it is important to inform people about the importance of wearing life jackets before the opening of beaches, so we decided to participate in this promotional campaign.”
A Jeju Maritime Police official stated, “With the summer holiday season approaching, we promoted water play safety to MG Saemaeul Geumgo users in the province to prevent water play safety accidents,” and urged, “A culture where water activity participants themselves comply with safety rules such as wearing life jackets for their own safety must be established.”
