Hongseong-gun Leads Carbon Neutrality Efforts Through Wood Usage

Hongseong-gun, Chungnam is taking the lead in practicing carbon neutrality through the use of 'wood.'

According to the county on the 5th, wood absorbs surrounding carbon and can store it for a long time, making it one of the effective methods for practicing carbon neutrality.

To this end, the county has been promoting the carbon storage effect, excellence, and necessity of wood over the past month.

Going forward, the county plans to distribute wood pellet boilers to revitalize wood use and prioritize the use of domestic wood in construction projects ordered by the county.

Seo Jong-il, head of the Forest and Greenery Division, said, "We will promote in various ways so that a culture of using domestic wood in daily life can take root," adding, "We hope this will contribute to both carbon neutrality and the revitalization of the local economy."
