SOOP announced on the 5th that it has launched the beta version of its global live streaming platform, 'SOOP'.
Based on the technology and experience of operating a domestic live streaming platform, SOOP plans to introduce a differentiated global platform service and gradually expand its influence, focusing on the Southeast Asian market and eSports content.
This beta version features a new user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) focused on ease of use and personalized services. The name of the support item is 'GEM'.
Convenience features for streamers are also provided. In the 'Channel' section, streamers can view all the content they have produced. Categories such as 'Community', a space for users to communicate, and 'Dashboard', where broadcasting statistics and monetization management can be checked at a glance, are also offered. Additionally, there is a space for chatting even when not broadcasting, and a chat translation feature is available for users.
The service supports English, Thai, and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional). Local content is prioritized based on the user's location. A subtitle feature that translates languages in real-time to facilitate communication between global streamers and users is scheduled to be applied by the end of this month.
SOOP plans to introduce country-specific strategies centered on the Thai market to discover local streamers and strengthen user inflow. At the same time, it aims to expand its influence to the global market, focusing on Taiwan and North America.
Choi Young-woo, Head of SOOP's Global Business Division, stated, "SOOP is more than just a streaming platform; it is an ecosystem where anyone around the world can participate and diverse content exists. We will do our best to create a new global streaming environment based on SOOP's strengths in streamers, virtual content, and eSports."
Meanwhile, SOOP plans to change the domestic service name of its domestic platform to SOOP within the third quarter of this year and revamp the overall service.
