Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) announced on the 5th that it has been selected for Seoul City's "Pilot Project for Providing Vision Correction Glasses to Low-Income Visually Impaired Individuals" and secured a project budget of 10 million KRW.


The support targets are Dongdaemun-gu residents who are registered as visually impaired and are either recipients of the National Basic Livelihood Security or legally classified as lower-income households. The district provides vouchers worth approximately 80,000 KRW, and eligible individuals can visit opticians partnered with the district to purchase vision correction glasses. A total of 110 people will be supported, and recruitment of beneficiaries will take place between the end of this month and early July.


To assist low-income visually impaired individuals experiencing difficulties in daily life due to visual impairment, the district participated in Seoul City's public contest last month and was finally selected as the implementing local government after review.
