"A Cup of Coffee, A Spoonful of Memory"... Goryeong County Launches Memory Improvement Program

Goryeong-gun Dementia Safety Center to Serve Residents Until Year-End

Goryeong County in North Gyeongsang Province (Governor Lee Namcheol) is launching a unique program to boost memory skills.

The Goryeong County Dementia Safety Center announced on the 4th that it will operate a memory enhancement program titled "A Cup of Coffee, A Spoonful of Memory" at the Happy Cafe from June until the end of the year. The program will be held every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. to help prevent dementia and improve memory.

This program, open to all county residents regardless of age, begins with a memory test (cognitive screening test) and includes a variety of memory training activities as well as education on dementia prevention methods.

Participants will undergo a cognitive screening test to assess their current memory level and receive assistance in strengthening their memory through various memory training techniques. They will also learn about different factors that affect memory, how to manage them, and ways to prevent and address dementia in daily life.

The program focuses on preventing common memory decline situations that may occur in everyday life and reducing the risk of developing dementia. Participants will acquire practical strategies and techniques to enhance memory that can be easily applied in their daily routines.

Lee Namcheol, Governor of Goryeong County, stated, "By utilizing a cafe setting for this program, we hope participants will gain an accurate understanding of dementia and experience real improvements in memory in a comfortable and relaxing environment."
