Cheonan City Explores Utilization Plans for Aging Sinbu Cultural Center

Cultural and Arts Complex Building to Be Reborn with Performances, Exhibitions, and Education

Cheonan City Explores Utilization Plans for Aging Sinbu Cultural Center Cheonan City, Chungnam Province, held an interim report meeting for the "Shinbu Cultural Center Construction Planning Project" and discussed various measures to serve as a control tower for living cultural resources.

Cheonan City in Chungnam held an interim report meeting on the 'Shinbu Cultural Center Construction Planning Service' and discussed various measures to serve as a control tower for living cultural resources.

Built in 1987, the Shinbu Cultural Center has lost its original functions due to building aging. The city has established a basic plan to construct a complex building called the Cheonan Culture and Arts Center to expand the base of living culture and opportunities for citizens to enjoy culture.

The cultural and artistic complex building, combining performance, exhibition, education, experience, and community services, is expected to serve as a meeting place for citizens and mainly provide activity spaces for local artists.

At the report meeting, reviews and analyses were conducted on operation programs, spaces, and architectural concepts based on case studies of domestic cultural centers. The city plans to improve and supplement the construction planning service based on the results of the interim report meeting review.

Mayor Park Sang-don said, “We will focus on establishing facilities to strengthen cultural functions suitable for Cheonan, a metropolitan city with a large living population, so that it can become a space greatly beneficial to regional cultural development without any setbacks.”
