The Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 4th that Superintendent Seol Dong-ho and senior officials, along with relevant staff, visited the construction site of Daejeon Dungok Elementary and Middle School, scheduled to open in September this year, to conduct an on-site inspection.
Daejeon Dungok Elementary and Middle School is the first school in the region to integrate kindergarten, elementary, and middle school operations. It is being developed as a school where students can use facilities safely and conveniently, featuring seismic-resistant structures, barrier-free living environment certification, green building certification, and energy efficiency rating certification.
The school plans to create a communication space for students using an open central staircase hall spanning floors 1 to 4, and a running street space in a wide 5.9-meter corridor that allows for self-study and relaxation. Additionally, an auditorium and library that can be used by local residents are also under construction.
Superintendent Seol Dong-ho of the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education stated, "We will do our utmost to ensure the school opens normally in September," and added, "I hope everyone involved in the construction site pays close attention to safety accidents so that no one gets injured and the construction can be completed safely."
