Annual Education Support of 350,000 KRW Per Person
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province is recruiting applicants for the 'Lifelong Education Voucher' for people with disabilities in the area.
This project follows the city's selection in the Ministry of Education's National Special Education Institute public contest project, the 'Support Project for Lifelong Education Vouchers for People with Disabilities.' The 'Lifelong Education Voucher for People with Disabilities' is a program that supports educational expenses of 350,000 KRW per person annually for registered persons with disabilities aged 19 and over to expand their opportunities to participate in lifelong education. It was first implemented last year, and this year the city was selected in a nationwide local government contest to promote the project.
The number of selected applicants is 40, and those selected will receive an annual lifelong education voucher worth 350,000 KRW to take programs at registered lifelong education institutions. Outstanding users can receive benefits up to 700,000 KRW.
Applications for the Lifelong Education Voucher for People with Disabilities can be submitted through the 'Government24' website's 'Subsidy 24' page until the 28th. Basic livelihood security recipients and lower-income groups are given priority selection. Selected applicants can receive a 'Lifelong Education Hope Card' at local NongHyup branches and can take programs at lifelong education institutions registered on the 'Lifelong Education Voucher' website regardless of their location.
Jung Myeong-geun, Mayor of Hwaseong City, said, "We will continue to provide unwavering support so that people with disabilities can actively participate in lifelong learning through various lifelong education projects for people with disabilities."
