Department of Social Welfare at Tongmyong University Visits Outstanding Institutions in Gyeongnam Including Jinhae Youth Training Center

The Department of Social Welfare at Tongmyong University (President Jeon Ho-hwan) is actively conducting various institutional visits to enhance students' employment competencies.

Department of Social Welfare at Tongmyong University Visits Outstanding Institutions in Gyeongnam Including Jinhae Youth Training Center Department of Social Welfare at Dongmyung University conducted a series of visits to outstanding institutions in the Gyeongnam region.

To help students explore career paths and strengthen their competencies as prospective social workers, second-year students are encouraged each year to visit outstanding local social welfare facilities.


This year, on May 31, Professors Kim Namsook and Lee Solji led 29 social welfare students on field visits to exemplary institutions such as Jinhae Youth Center, Jinhae Comprehensive Social Welfare Center in Changwon, Gyeongnam Provincial Welfare Center for the Disabled, and Jinhae Senior Welfare Center.


These visits helped prospective social workers better understand the realities of the field, envision their future roles, and foster a strong sense of challenge. Students also identified the regional identity and operational characteristics of leading social welfare institutions in the Gyeongnam area.


Student Kim Doohyeong said, "It was great to see the various programs and facilities at the institutions. I was especially impressed by the community-linked welfare projects. I believe this experience will serve as a valuable guide for my future career path."


Student Shim Donghyun said, "The large scale of the facilities allowed me to witness the actual operation of various social welfare programs. It was very helpful in setting my employment goals and was a meaningful experience."


Professor Lee Solji of the Department of Social Welfare at Tongmyong University stated, "Visiting a series of outstanding social welfare and youth facilities and hearing vivid explanations greatly helped students in setting their career paths and enhancing their employment preparation skills."
