"Plan to Expand Service Areas to Over 30 Countries This Year"
Kakao Mobility announced on the 4th that it has launched 'k.ride,' a global mobility platform exclusively for foreigners.
k.ride is currently available for download in app stores across 14 countries, including South Korea, the United States, Japan, Singapore, and China. Users from these countries can conveniently use Kakao T Blue, Ventti, Black, and Model Taxi services in South Korea through the k.ride application without any inconvenience related to language, accounts, or payments. Kakao Mobility plans to gradually expand the services offered.
Users can easily sign up by entering their phone number and verifying via Google or Apple accounts or email, even without a Kakao account. Automatic payment is also possible by registering cards issued overseas. The company intends to further enhance payment convenience by introducing overseas simple payment functions.
The service supports four languages in total: English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), and Japanese. For destination searches and chatting with drivers, it provides automatic translation in about 100 languages, including English, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and Arabic.
Kakao Mobility plans to expand the number of countries where the service operates to about 30 this year. Additionally, it aims to offer integrated services, including ride-hailing, in each country, including South Korea.
Ryu Geung-seon, CEO of Kakao Mobility, stated, "Through k.ride, we will now introduce a global customized service that people worldwide can use conveniently and familiarly beyond borders."
