Jeamsan Natural Recreation Forest Area, July 6 - 7
Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will hold the "1st Boseong County Governor's Cup National Mountain Bike Competition" from July 6 to 7 at the Jeamsan Natural Recreation Forest area.
This competition is hosted by the Korea Mountain Bike Federation and sponsored by Boseong-gun, and will be held at a 1.4km downhill course designed to meet international competition standards.
On July 6, the "Downhill" race will take place, and on July 7, starting with an opening ceremony at 9:30 a.m. at the lawn square of Jeamsan Natural Recreation Forest, the "Cross-country" race will be held.
The "Downhill (bitaltagi)" race covers a 3km distance, with riders reaching a top speed of about 80km/h, descending in 3 to 5 minutes. Rankings are determined by time.
The "Cross-country" race operates on an approximately 16km course that goes from Jeamsan to Ilimsan forest roads, passes around the Imsu Reservoir trail, and returns to Jeamsan Natural Recreation Forest.
In particular, there is a steep uphill section near the finish line, which is expected to stimulate excitement and challenge motivation among mountain bike athletes and enthusiasts. Rankings are decided by completing 2 laps for elites and 1 lap for intermediate and beginner riders.
Additionally, there is a non-competitive "Road Riding (bicycle stroll)" course for residents, so many family participants are expected.
All participants on the day will be provided with lunch and souvenirs, and will also receive raffle tickets for a chance to win prizes such as high-end bicycles.
Those wishing to participate in the "Downhill" and "Cross-country" races can apply by June 28 through the Korea Mountain Bike Federation website or by phone, with a participation fee of 40,000 KRW.
The residents’ road riding course accepts on-site registration and is free of charge.
