Spearpower announced on the 3rd that it has signed an MOU with GAM, a company specializing in non-heat-treated high-strength aluminum alloys.
Preparing for a full-scale entry into a promising new business, Spearpower signed a basic MOU with GAM, which possesses non-heat-treated high-strength aluminum alloy technology, to establish a joint venture necessary for investment and business cooperation.
Unlike existing technologies that require heat treatment to achieve high-strength performance, GAM's technology enables better performance even without heat treatment. This technology is used in various markets and allows for cost reduction as well as environmentally friendly manufacturing. Following the MOU signing, Spearpower's full-scale entry into the new business is expected to become more concrete.
According to the company, GAM's key personnel are alloy experts with management and executive experience at Liquidmetal, which was listed on the NASDAQ in the United States. GAM has already been registered as a supplier to automobile manufacturers and has obtained a technology evaluation Ti-3 grade. It is the only domestic special alloy material company with this distinction. GAM holds patents for materials with high-strength characteristics achieved solely through die casting without heat treatment. It is known that patents have been registered in major countries worldwide, including the United States, Japan, China, and five other countries.
